Brand & Reputation Leadership
Olivia Watkins Hwang is a seasoned communications executive with over 16 years of experience leading cross-functional teams and advising C-suite leaders in high-impact, high-scrutiny environments. Her expertise spans brand strategy, executive communications, public affairs, crisis management, and stakeholder engagement.
Most recently, Olivia served as Vice Chancellor for Marketing, Communications & University Relations at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she led a university-wide brand transformation, advised senior leadership through crisis and change, and directed a $6M portfolio spanning marketing, web, and government relations. Her leadership contributed to a targeted 3% revenue increase despite sector-wide declines.
Olivia's earlier roles include leading state communications for health policy, insurance, and disaster response. She developed national media strategies to support Louisiana's $8.8B BP oil spill settlement and launched a health insurance marketplace campaign with industry and grassroots stakeholders, securing 60,000+ enrollments in just three weeks.
She holds a BA from Tulane University and a credential in Financial and Business Analytics from Harvard Business School (CORe). Olivia has served on numerous government advisory boards, including WHEDA and Wisconsin’s Council on Financial Literacy.
She is currently open to board service, consulting engagements, and full-time leadership opportunities in corporate communications, brand strategy, and public affairs.
